優(yōu)點(diǎn)
耐高溫——使用工作溫度達(dá)250℃。
耐低溫——具有良好的機(jī)械韌性;即使溫度下降到-196℃,也可保持5%的伸長(zhǎng)率。
耐腐蝕——對(duì)大多數(shù)化學(xué)藥品和溶劑,表現(xiàn)出惰性、能耐強(qiáng)酸強(qiáng)堿、水和各種有機(jī)溶劑。
耐氣候——有塑料中的老化壽命。
高潤(rùn)滑——是固體材料中摩擦系數(shù)低者。
不粘附——是固體材料中小的表面張力,不粘附任何物質(zhì)。
無(wú)毒害——具有生理惰性,作為人工血管和臟器長(zhǎng)期植入體內(nèi)無(wú)不良反應(yīng)。
聚四氟乙烯相對(duì)分子質(zhì)量較大,低的為數(shù)十萬(wàn),高的達(dá)一千萬(wàn)以上
,一般為數(shù)百萬(wàn)(聚合度在104數(shù)量級(jí),而聚乙烯僅在103)。一般結(jié)晶度為90~95%,熔融溫度為327~342℃。聚四氟乙烯分子中CF2單元按鋸齒形狀排列,由于氟原子半徑較氫稍大,所以相鄰的CF2單元不能完全按反式交叉取向,而是形成一個(gè)螺旋狀的扭曲鏈,氟原子幾乎覆蓋了整個(gè)高分子鏈的表面。這種分子結(jié)構(gòu)解釋了聚四氟乙烯的各種性能。溫度低于19℃時(shí),形成13/6螺旋;在19℃發(fā)生相變,分子稍微解開(kāi),形成15/7螺旋[1]。
不足
1、聚四氟乙烯具有“冷流性”。即材料制品在長(zhǎng)時(shí)間連續(xù)載荷作用下發(fā)生的塑性變形(蠕變),這給它的應(yīng)用帶來(lái)一定的限制。如當(dāng)PTFE用作密封墊時(shí),為密封嚴(yán)密而把螺栓擰得很緊,以致超過(guò)特定的壓縮應(yīng)力時(shí),會(huì)使墊圈產(chǎn)生“冷流”(蠕變)而被壓扁。這些缺點(diǎn)可通過(guò)加入適當(dāng)?shù)奶盍霞案倪M(jìn)零件結(jié)構(gòu)等方法來(lái)克服。
2、PTFE具有突出的不粘性,限制了其工業(yè)上的應(yīng)用。它是極好的防粘材料,這種性能又使它與其他物件的表面粘合極為困難。
3、PTFE的線膨脹系數(shù)為鋼的10~20倍,比多數(shù)塑料大,其線膨脹系數(shù)隨著溫度的變化而發(fā)生很不規(guī)律的變化。在應(yīng)用PTFE時(shí),如果對(duì)這方面性能注意不夠,很容易造成損失。

用途一:可用于棒、管、板、電纜料、生料帶等材料的制作,經(jīng)二次加工還可制成薄板、薄膜及各種異型制品,還可用作潤(rùn)滑劑、稠化劑。
